Americans for the Arts and San Francisco Art Dealer Mayer Flaks

San Francisco art dealer Mayer Flaks does what he can to promote art and art education in America. Today, education is highly prioritized by field and specialty and many people view art as being little more than a waste of time and money for schools and government funding. But there are many professionals and organizations trying to point out the benefit of art programs in schools and communities.

Mayer Flaks is an art dealer in San Francisco, California. Within his community, Mayer Flaks knows there are many talented artists both young and old. Many artists flock to the city but unfortunately, art programs are still being cut nationwide. Mayer Flaks believes that organizations like Americans for the Arts try to keep the art industry alive.

Mayer Flaks believes in the organization partly because his own career is tied directly to artists, but also because many intelligent and world-changing individuals were artists. Mayer Flaks often points out to people that artists have played a pivotal role in shaping our world.

Mayer Flaks hopes that supporting programs and organizations like Americans for the Arts, more people will see the benefits of art. As much as mathematics and science is important, people idolize actors and singers who by definition, are artists. However, Mayer Flaks’s specialty is fine arts. He often attends art festivals both in San Francisco and other large art fairs and festivals around the country.

There have been a number of programs that have sprung up in the defense of art. Art is even used for its therapeutic properties. Mayer Flaks does not donate to each art program out there but he hopes that others will help further the education of how beneficial art is. His and others' goal is that art will not be eliminated completely from schools since for so long it was an integral part of helping students be creative in learning.
