San Francisco Art Dealer Mayer Flaks Takes Up New Hobby

Mayer Flaks is very knowledgeable about the art world. He has worked as an art dealer in San Francisco for years. Growing up, Mayer Flaks was always fascinated by art and how art truly leaves a lasting impression. Mayer Flaks decided that dealing art was what he wanted to do his entire life. Fortunately, San Francisco is full of talented artists both known and unknown. So Mayer Flaks works hard to promote the work of these lesser known artists.

For as much as he promotes the work of small artists to art buyers, Mayer Flaks wanted to create a bit of art himself. Mayer Flaks’s own pursuance of art is not driven by his hope of glory or fame. Instead, Mayer Flaks decided to take up the art of photography as a personal new interest. It was during the Christmas of 2012, season that Mayer Flaks bought a new Nikon camera in order to take photographs.

As an art dealer, Mayer Flaks has in mind the different subject matter considered by most people to be art. He, like many, are drawn to landscape images. Mayer Flaks likes to go hiking along different California mountain paths and now, he takes his camera with him in order to capture any patch of landscape he feels is picture worthy. To Mayer Flaks, this may be flowers growing between different trees or the way the sun plays over the trees. Living in San Francisco, Mayer Flaks also enjoys taking pictures of the bay area.

San Francisco art dealer Mayer Flaks is still working on figuring out the intricacies of his camera. While his camera wasn't the most expensive, it wasn't the cheapest either. Mayer Flaks understands there is still much to learn about photography including how light effects a photograph and how different camera options effect the picture. Mayer Flaks looks forward to learning landscape photography through trial and error.
