Many people know they are prone to putting on a couple of pounds over
the winter months. Cold or nasty weather keeps you inside where you are less
likely to walk around aimlessly and more prone to finding sedentary methods of
entertainment. Although San Francisco
art dealer Mayer Flaks enjoys being
healthy, he too falls victim to seasonal weight gain. However, Mayer Flaks
works hard to shed the weight every spring.
Once the San Francisco
weather started to warm up enough that Mayer Flaks could walk outside
comfortably, he began increasing the lengths of his walks. Even more beneficial
is Mayer Flaks ability to resume his love for hiking. Thanks to the increased
amount of time Mayer Flaks walks along the San Francisco beach and his get-a-ways to
hike mountain paths, Mayer Flaks has already lost five pounds.
While this may not seem like a lot, it makes a considerable difference
to a person who is used to being in shape. Mayer Flaks does not beat
himself up over his seasonal weight gain. He is used to it just as he knows his
regular spring, summer, and fall recreational routines will help him lose the
weight and keep it off the majority of the year.
Because he is so
active in his personal time, Mayer Flaks doesn't bother joining a gym. He is
well-aware a gym membership will allow him to exercise all year long in order
to avoid winter weight gain, but Mayer Flaks is not ready to commit himself to
gym membership fees just yet. Mostly, it is because Mayer Flaks knows
three-quarters of the year he would not be using the gym. For now, Mayer Flaks
is happy with his routine of walking along the beach. It is the physical
recreation he enjoys most and he sees no reason to change his routine anytime
soon.
